However, he is primarily known in the pet industry, where he has worked for over 25 years, first as a K-9 dog trainer and importer of police and military working dogs and then later as a media professional where he was a talk show host of the popular radio show “Pet Talk for 18 years. He wrote the bestseller “Dog Talk” (St. Martin’s Press-Macmillan) in 2008 and has appeared over 50 times on national television shows like The View, Regis and Kelly, The Today Show, CNN and Fox News as a renowned pet expert.
Throughout his career he has been the spokesperson for many major brands and product campaigns for companies such as Toyota, Progressive Insurance, QUALCOMM, Mars, Walmart, Natural Balance, Thundershirt, and Pet Safe. As part of this he has conducted many national speaking tours over the years with multiple sponsors which has given him insights and contacts across the industry that help smaller companies grow faster while expanding into larger footprints and verticals.
In his years of working with companies as a spokesperson or marketing consultant, he has helped to connect several young pet company entrepreneurs with larger corporations or private capital groups.
